Reports
and Papers
Using a KIC kiosk will enrich
your students’ reports and papers,
promoting a greater pride in the work they
do at your library. Your students will learn
how to produce reports with a quality that
will be expected of them in their career.
Lecture
Notes
Lecture notes are a student’s
best record of their university academic
experience. It can be useful, even necessary
to retain these notes for subsequent related
courses and after graduation as well.
Course
Curriculum Materials
Use KIC kiosks as an additional
distribution point for course curriculum
materials – by CD, print or Internet
transfer to student PCs – and these
materials can be included on the Term Encapsulation
CDs.
The
Complete Term Encapsulation CD
Imagine your graduating
students taking with them an encapsulation
of each term they completed at your university
– a four year degree on as few as
eight CDs, beautifully printed in full color
with the university’s logo, the term,
the year, the student’s name and the
courses taken.
Charging
Patrons to use KIC
Not all universities charge
for photocopies, but most universities must
contend with non-student patrons. KIC supports
student card readers and can be configured
to charge
for some or all patrons.
Interlibrary
Loan
As a UDSA compliant digitization
system, KIC can be used for interlibrary
loan scanning. Prior to scanning the requested
material, KIC scans the request sheet and
captures all the information necessary to
send the image to the requestor via Ariel
or Iliad.
Digitization
Projects for Preservation and Access
Your preservation department
wasn’t created for occasional scanning.
It is important that its systems not only
produce the desired quality of output, but
also that they are efficient. A KIC kiosk
can not only produce high quality color
output efficiently, but its likely to be
located in the stacks, near some of the
volumes that are both in use and targeted
for preservation.
