· Legal profession: BSCAN provides automatic Bates number endorsing for litigation. Bates numbers are used to track documents used in evidence in litigation. A single lawsuit may involve thousands of contracts, statements, briefs, and other documents. These documents are assigned sequential numbers (manually affixed to each document.) BSCAN's Bates endorsing function eliminates this tedious effort by automatically endorsing documents.

· Trucking and shipping industries: BSCAN's barcode and OCR engines automate parcel tracking. Trucking and shipping companies have been implementing BSCAN to their workflow system to scan and index thousands of "delivery manifests" and "bills of lading per day." BSCAN provides fail-safe and efficient tracking of all packages!

· Document conversion: Document conversion service bureaus maximize production efficiency using barcode separator pages to control document routing. While destapling and unfolding files, workers must insert special barcode separator pages between each file. During the scan process, BSCAN reads the separator page barcodes and performs the functions associated with each code. Barcodes can even be used to specify or change the file path of the images being stored.

· Indexing "On the Fly: BSCAN ability to index 'on the fly' with dexterity and flexibility as an integral part of the scanning process, put BSCAN in a class of its own. Common with most scanning solutions; scan station operators are used to enter index information. When scanning folders that contain over ten pages, the ID associated and printed on each folder can be entered at scan time, permanently associating images with their corresponding source files. This process is cost efficient and is typically error free.

· Garbage In, Valid Data Out: An essential accompaniment, to its high-speed indexing capabilities, is BSCAN's data validation facilities. Supplied with a simple database report file for all of the valid values for an index entry, BSCAN verifies each image's index information at scan time or as a post process. For sophisticated data validation needs, BSCAN offers both dynamic data exchange (DDE) and dynamic link library (DLL) interfaces. With these tools, BSCAN can communicate interactively with your central database system to ensure that all images are indexed accurately.
