What is the
[FILE] BSA file section used for - where does this list appear?
The
[FILE] section is used by BSCAN for defining all things relative
to saving images and index information. In this section we define
the log entry that is written to the log file, image file directories
and the image file names themselves. Refer to section 4-20 in the
BSCAN 3.10 manual.
What is the
[FORM] BSA file section used for - where does this list appear?
The
[FORM] section of the BSCAN and UpFRONTapplication file is
the place were all menu configurations selected by the user are
stored, including all indexing and processing configurations. Each
configuration can be further enhanced by altering the Process and
Configs they contain. For example, opening an Edit Box from the
menu calls Config3. In Config3 we can change the buttons on the
screen (If there are any) or alter scanner settings if we choose.
However, the [FORM] section should not be altered itself by any
scripting.
What is the
[PAPERSIZES] section used for - where does this list appear?
This
section is used by BSCAN only when a HiSCAN board is operating.
The [PAPERSIZES] section appears in the lower extreme of an application
file. The papersizes are set here in .1mm units. This section has
several default paper sizes and can also be adjusted to meet custom
paper sizes as well.
With a SCSI
scanner, BSCANs available papersizes are derived directly
from the scanner, so the [PAPERSIZES] section is not referenced.
Variable
length limits -- 99? are there different limits for different variables?
The
N# variables can be 9 numeric characters long. S# variables can
be 80 numeric or alphanumeric characters and can be incremented
in the same fashion as N# variables. :## variables can be over 400
characters in length.
Can I configure
BSCAN to any scanning application?
Yes, that's one of BSCAN's tried and true claims. With a versatile
scripting language, it is virtually unlimited in its ability to
meet the application needs common to production capture environments.
And configuring BSCAN is quick -- our technical staff offers a configuration
service, and they are able to create configurations that meet complex
requirements in a single day. Typical BSCAN applications can be
scripted in as little as 10 minutes.
